Enjoy some lively Jazz music in the month of June as the popular Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival entertains fans in the heart of downtown. This music festival attracts more than 125,000 people from around the world each year with the week long 9th edition taking place from June 11-19, 2010 in Rochester, NY. Marquee musicians that will be performing at various downtown locations include Gladys Knight, Herbie Hancock and Jeff Beck!
As well, Xerox presents an "American Idol" style music competition leading up to the 2010 Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival. “Jazz Star: The Search for a New Sensation,” is a talent competition that raises money for local youth programs and may assist in catapulting a special talent into jazz stardom.
Xerox is proud to be an Official Partner of the Rochester Jazz Festival with proceeds benefiting the City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation’s Biz Kid$ Real. This is an amazing program that teaches the fundamentals of business development to children, including financial planning, research, sales and marketing! The Rochester Public Market, the Credit Education Bureau and the Farmers Market Federation of New York and the Biz Kid$ Real program works with a team of youth that will ultimately produce healthy snacks for the New York State Fair.
